Toddlers are fun. I know I was blessed with an amazing daughter but there are some days I want to pull my hair out. I couldn’t imagine not having her in day care so we can focus on the baby and think that all the stay at home mothers who have more than one are saints. Daycare has been a godsend to get her energy out. Her attention span is 15 minutes, if that long. I know it’s completely age appropriate but it’s hard when you just need to sit for a little while. I am curious how this summer will go without having daycare and being in a different country.
It seems like the youngest seems to miss out on the fun. She always just watches while her big sister does her activity. Dani looks like she is having blast watching and won’t stop smiling and laughing at her sister.
I used to love those rainy days where I was allowed to stay in all day binge watching TV and movies. Now I dread them because I know that there is no way for my toddler to run out her energy to be ready for nap time. Nap time is a 2 hour saving grace where I can relax. Although it is rare that both girls nap at the same time, the 6 month is a lot easier to take care of when there isn’t a 2 year old trying to get your attention. The baby allows me to watch TV without interruptions as long as I am holding her.
I used to have big aspirations of working out during Gigi’s nap. I still would like to, but it hasn’t happened yet and today will probably not be the day it starts.
Today my toddler woke up at 5:30 with the sun. By 7 am, I saw that it wasn’t supposed to rain until 8:30 and ran off to the beach for some pictures and get her to run her energy out.

A friend of mine, who happens to be an amazing photographer usually does this 365 photo project and at the end of the year has this amazing book of photos full of memories. I just started picking up my camera but felt such a task would be daunting. She recommended I try a 52 a year program. I found one that I love and have been submitting religiously. When she mentioned a 101 Days of Summer photography challenge, I thought it would be perfect. I am a teacher that doesn’t work in the summertime. I took photos and made a photobook last year of my time in Seattle and it was a blast.
I think that May 27th is the 101 Days of Summer kick off. If not, what’s a few extra photos. Here’s #1.
Toddler soccer is so much fun. It’s crazy and I don’t know how the coaches do it. I just know that Gigi is exhausted after the 25 minute segment.
